Profiles and Growth Edges

How to understand Vision, Analysis, Creation, and Scaling, and why Growth Edge is not a weakness.

Profile describes how you most often create value with AI today. Growth Edge shows what may help your work move forward. Together they form a practical compass: where you are strong, and what direction is worth developing next.

Some materials use friendlier labels, while others use the methodology labels. They refer to the same ideas.

Friendly labelMethodology labelTypical output
VisionVisiondirection, opportunities, priorities
AnalysisIntelligenceunderstanding, decisions, arguments
CreationCreationtexts, decks, prototypes, materials
ScalingLeverageworkflows, templates, assistants, systems

#Vision

Vision is the ability to find new opportunities and directions. AI helps you see faster what could be done differently, what is worth testing, and where attention should go.

It often appears when someone:

  • spots places where AI could change work, a product, or a service,
  • picks a few directions worth testing from many possible options,
  • connects AI opportunities to value for a customer, team, or business.

Vision is not deep analysis of alternatives. That is closer to Analysis / Intelligence. Vision finds what is worth solving.

#Analysis / Intelligence

Analysis means using AI as a partner for thinking, learning, research, synthesis, and decisions. The value is not just faster writing; it is better understanding.

It often appears when someone:

  • compares options and consequences,
  • asks AI to explain complex material,
  • uses AI as a second opinion,
  • looks for blind spots before making a decision.

Strong Analysis does not mean endless research. The next step is often to turn good thinking into a concrete output.

#Creation

Creation means AI shortens the distance between an idea and a usable first version. This can be text, a deck, a visual, a concept, a proposal, a prototype, or an internal material.

It often appears when someone:

  • creates first versions quickly,
  • iterates on style and quality,
  • experiments with formats,
  • uses AI to get past the blank page.

Creation is not simply "AI writes for me". Strong Creation combines human taste, context, and review with AI speed.

#Scaling / Leverage

Scaling means repeated work becomes a system. The person is not only making one output; they are building a way of working that works again next time.

It often appears when someone:

  • saves and improves workflows,
  • creates assistants, templates, or prompt libraries,
  • automates repeated work,
  • builds prototypes, dashboards, or simple tools,
  • thinks in processes, not only single tasks.

Scaling is not the same as L2 Builder. Scaling / Leverage is a style of working with AI. L2 Builder is a level. Someone can show Scaling at a lower level if they are just starting to save prompts and simple workflows.

#How to read Growth Edge

Growth Edge is not automatically the weakest area. It is the direction most likely to increase impact.

If your profile isCommon Growth EdgeWhy
VisionScaling / LeverageGood opportunities need to become repeatable impact
Analysis / IntelligenceCreationGood thinking needs a visible output
CreationScaling or AnalysisCreation needs either a system or stronger decision quality
Scaling / LeverageVisionSystems should not only optimize old work; they should open new possibilities

This is not a mechanical rule. Role, level, concrete opportunities, and work evidence can change the Growth Edge. A manager with strong Creation may need Scaling into the team. A data analyst with strong Analysis may grow through Scaling because they already create outputs, but need to deliver them repeatably.

#Example: Scaling as profile, Vision as growth

When the result says:

Primary profile: Scaling / Leverage
Growth Edge: Vision

it means: you already know how to build workflows, assistants, or systems. The next step is probably not "build another template". Better questions are:

  • Which system is only speeding up work that could be done differently?
  • Where could AI create a new service, decision rhythm, or way of working?
  • Which repeated process has enough impact to deserve being rebuilt?

In coaching, Growth Edge turns into a concrete action. For the broader development map, see development areas. To see how profile and Growth Edge appear in the report, read individual report.
